Like so many segments of the wedding industry here in Malaysia, those part of the wedding stationery segment of the market will attest to pretty rapid growth. Long established household names with immense production facilities, retail outlets and sound financial backing are at one end of the spectrum whilst graphic artists of a freelance nature are at the other end. And in between these two extremes are a host of other design studios who also partake in a share of the market. This proliferation of choices means that couples now have a variety of service providers to select from.

When deciding on wedding stationers, do take into account some of the following :

  • Track record - how reputable are they?

  • Capability - will they be able to come up with the goods?

  • Capacity - how fast is their turnaround time and how much volume can they handle?

  • Knowledge - how well do they know the wedding industry and the latest trends?

  • Service - are they professional or are they cut-throat?

  • Flexibility - can they accommodate special requests?

  • Receptiveness - are they willing to listen to your ideas?

Prior to meeting these service providers, it would be good to have done some research on some of these issues :

  • Designs - what do you fancy?

  • Colours - is there a theme to adhere to?

  • Look - classic, vintage, contemporary, quirky?

  • Quality - in terms of paper and printing?

  • Wording - traditional, formal or casual?

Tip : Do take into consideration parents' views in particular for wording in invites.
