As an accessory that complements the wedding gown, choosing the right bouquet is a pertinent decision. The rule of thumb would be to pair a very detailed gown with a simple bouquet and vice versa. When having discussions with your selected floral designer, it would be a good idea to show either pictures or sketches of your intended wedding gown as well as bridesmaids' dresses and also fabric swatches.

Some shapes to consider include :

  • Teardrop - this bouquet has an inverted teardrop shape.

  • Cascade - a loosely structure triangle with a tumbling look with multiple trails.

  • Hand-tied posy - a loose, circular cluster of flowers tied with a ribbon.

  • Nosegay - a compact bouquet densely packed with flowers.

  • Biedermeier - a concentric circle of flowers within flowers.

  • Arm-spray - a collection of long-stemmed flowers that a bride cradles on her arm.
