The diverse landscapes of Malaysia, are reflected in the various settings that our country has to offer in terms of wedding locations. Here, a beachfront ceremony during sunset on the idyllic island of Penang evokes a sense of romanticism and the feeling of being one with nature.

Tip : Some issues to consider when selecting a resort include whether the ceremony could be held at a private section of the property, special room rates for guests, accessibility to a hairstylist, makeup artist and photographer i.e. things which we take for granted when in the city.

Restaurants housed in heritage bungalows are in vogue as venues for weddings, particularly in Kuala Lumpur. Old-world charm coupled with an intimate interior setting and in most cases a large garden make these contemporary wedding venues all the rage nowadays.

Tip : The sitting capacity, catering services and types of menus available, liquor and entertainment licenses, flexibility in using its entire compound as well as sufficient car park space are some of the considerations when making comparisons between the different bungalow-type venues.

More and more couples are also combining the natural beauty of the outdoors and the more intimate ambience of a ballroom setting. The former for the wedding ceremony proper and the latter for the banquet that follows.

Tip : For an outdoor wedding, always ensure that there is a contingency plan and back-up venue should the weather turn bad.
