One of the most important things a bride should
tackle first in the run up to the wedding is
selecting a hairstylist and makeup artist. Good
ones are often booked up way in advance. When
scouting round for a hairstylist and makeup
artist, make it a point to have a look at their
portfolio of work for previous clients and find
out about their background, training as well
as experience. Preferably, who you appoint should
be able to do both your hair and makeup as it
will certainly save you the trouble of hiring
two different persons. However, this is not
always possible and many a bride has taken the
step of working with two differing individuals,
specialists in their own way. It would also
be a good idea to ask about the cosmetic brands
that will be used, particularly if you have
sensitive skin.
As with any appointment, cost will be a major
consideration. Most reputable hairstylists and
makeup artists will charge for a trial, which
is fair, and this amount is normally deducted
from the total package price should you then
decide to appoint him or her for your wedding.
Be sure though to confirm what the package includes
prior to paying a deposit. A good makeup artist
and hairstylist will not only be upfront about
the package offered, but will also be someone
who can guide you in creating a look that will
be the most flattering for you on your wedding
day, a look that will complement your features
and skin tone.
